DIY Denim Decorative Pillow

Out with the old, in with the new! When it’s time for a new pair of jeans, don’t throw out your old, worn pair – upcylce them! This week, we teamed up with Brit + Co to turn an old pair of jeans into a chic decorative pillow!

  • Used Cotton Jeans
  • One Used Belt
  • Rivets
  • Fabric Scissors
  • Scissors
  • Sewing Machine
  • Awl
  • Hammer
  • Measuring Tape
  • Pins

Let's Get Started

Step 1

Gather all materials.

Step 2

First, grab a pair of cotton-rich denim jeans and cut off both legs. Snip down the seam and open them up.

Step 3

Then trim them so that you have two rectangles that are the same size

Step 4

Place one on top of the other with the outside in and pin them in place.

Step 5

Sew along the edges leaving a small section open on one side.

Step 6

Flip the case inside out.

Step 7

Stuff your pillow through the opening.

Step 8

Pin the opening together. Either hand stitch (whipstitch will work) or sew the edge with your machine

Step 9

Add your belts creating new holes with your awl if they are too long.

Step 10

Boom. New pillow for you!
