Let's Get Started

Tntp Cotton Earrings Step011

Step 1

The first step is to glue the earring posts to your extra-large rhinestones. Be sure to match the bottoms of the rhinestones to the edges of the earring posts and let the loops hang down. Set aside to dry.

Step 2

If you’re using an old denim item, cut off a medium-large swatch.

Step 3

Arrange your rhinestones in a pretty, symmetrical pattern.

Step 4

Use your needle to help you place a small dot of glue on the back of each rhinestone.

Step 5

Start by gluing the vertical center of the pattern.

Step 6

Then add the surrounding rhinestones, adding the matching ones at the same time to ensure the pattern stays symmetrical. Once all the rhinestones are glued to the first earring, set it aside to dry. Do not start the second earring yet.

Step 7

Once your first earring is dry, cut around the rhinestone pattern leaving ample room to show off the denim. Most importantly, leave plenty of denim at the top, as this is where you’ll attach the rhinestone earring post.

Step 8

Once you cut out a shape you like, match it to a second piece of denim and cut it to match the first earring. Repeat the process of gluing rhinestones onto the second earring.

Step 9

Once both earrings are dry, use a needle to wiggle a small hole at the top of each earring. Be very careful not to loosen the denim fibers, as you may likely rip a hole. (If that does happen, use a small drop of craft glue to close up the rip at the top.)

Step 10

Use your pliers to insert a jump ring into the hole. Add the earring post and secure the jump ring closed. Repeat with your other earring and enjoy these lightweight beauties!
