Runway to Everyday: Novis

New York Fashion Week is already off to an amazing start. We’ve seen some unbelievable looks hit the runway, all of which make us think of cotton and the spring outfit possibilities that lie ahead. A little denim jacket thrown over a Whit daisy printed sundress – does it get any better than that? Maybe we’ll try a sporty racer-back look like the petal pink and pastel blue styles we saw at the Charlotte Ronson presentation. It may only be fall, but these shows are making us so excited for spring 2015.

With that said, one of the shows that really caught our eye was the Novis presentation. A white room in an art studio tucked far away in the West Village showed off models dressed in a primary color palette, sporting statement-making prints and graphic designs. The pops of cobalt blue, bright orange and lemon yellow made a splash against a white tarp lining the red brick walls.

The best part about the Novis show is that we had no problem spotting cotton inspiration right then and there. From the cropped crewneck sweaters to the buttoned up blouses, we’ll be dreaming of these looks all winter long. However, one piece especially caught our eye. The cotton trench coat is a classic wardrobe staple that will never go out of style. This timeless design got a modern makeover from Novis when it appeared in the presentation adorned with orange buttons and blue trim. So in the spirit of filling our cotton closets to the brim with timeless staples, here are some trench coat copies for your shopping pleasure.
