Bedford cord
| What is bedford cord?
Bedford cord is a textured fabric woven with vertical cords. The construction uses “stuffer” yarns in combination with the weave structure to create a textured surface with raised cords. Bedford cord is often made with cotton yarns and used in bottom weight garments. These corded constructions can also be used for home furnishings, including upholstery and drapery. When made in lighter weights and with finer yarns, it is called a warp pique.
| How to wear bedford cord:
Bedford cord is durable and usually used for making pants, especially chinos.
| Maintaining bedford cord:
Bedford cord, made in 100% cotton, is easy to maintain. Home laundry with tumble drying will enhance the texture of the cord, and it will get softer with time and wear.
Does bedford cord wrinkle?
Bedford cord is naturally wrinkle resistant, because of the fabric structure. Resist the urge to iron it too heavily, or the texture can be altered or removed altogether.
Is bedford cord easy to clean?
Bedford cord is easy to clean and care for. We recommend a cold-water wash and tumble dry.
