With spring comes spring fashion, and an excuse to fill your wardrobe with the latest and greatest in breezy, trendy, versatile new spring pieces. This season, the classic sundress is getting an upgrade with funky gingham prints, while the new maxi romper and denim jumpsuit also move into center stage. Whether you’re looking to try new trends or just put a new spin on a classic, cotton is the best fabric for your spring wardrobe. Keep reading for style tips, a trend breakdown, and a shop collection.

Sundresses: Gingham, Stripes, and Florals

Florals never go out of style, especially for spring. Floral spring dresses look good for all occasions, night or day, work or play. For a more summery, sailor vibe, opt for a breezy, striped dress you can wear with a denim jacket layered over, and some canvas sneakers for comfort. Try a neutral black-and-white striped dress with a bold shoe, and add a trench coat for chillier spring days.

We all love florals and stripes, but spring 2018’s breakout pattern is undoubtedly gingham. Once reserved solely for Dorothy on her way to Oz, the biggest dress trend this spring is the blue gingham sundress. Classic yet updated, trendy yet irresistibly feminine, you can’t go wrong with this checkered pattern. If you’re feeling even bolder, try a red gingham dress.

As far as silhouettes, we’re currently loving the t-shirt dress trend, since it combines two of our favorite cotton pieces: dresses and tees! Try a black t-shirt dress with a gingham or chambray shirt tied around your waist, and a pair of sunnies to finish the look.

Jumpsuits: Denim & Patterned

Sundresses not your style? Time warp back to the 70s with this vintage-inspired look. Jumpsuits are surging in popularity this spring, and for good reason: they’re versatile, trendy, and don’t require a lot of styling. Throw on a cotton tee underneath if you like to layer, or just a pair of cute mule sandals, and you’ll  make the jumpsuit look effortlessly chic.

Our favorite jumpsuits this spring are made of breathable cotton in stripes or florals, or a summery, bright-blue denim that looks like a serious upgrade of the classic overalls.

Rompers: Mini & Maxi

The ultimate lazy-girl outfit that always looks put together is the romper, and now you can get it in more than one length! Maxi rompers combine the romper and the maxi dress in one package, so you never have to choose between the two styles. For day, nothing says spring like a striped or floral romper, and for night, a black or dark-colored piece is both elegant and trendy.
